The Palestine Humanity Gatharing event was held in Istanbul on Saturday, March 9, 2024. This event was organized to remind us how important it is to remember our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Our brothers in Palestine need help, at least to facilitate the struggle of those who fast under conditions of genocide. This fast will of course be very different from previous fasts, which is why the Khair Way Foundation initiated with the Indonesian diaspora is now organizing a series of events to rethink what we can do for Palestine.
Three activity sessions were held in this full-day event. First of all, in the Writing Training given directly by the famous author Asma Nadia, whose many novels have been published and many films have been released from her novels, "Paradise That Cannot Be Missed" is among her famous novels. In this first session, he explained how important it is to write and produce work, and also quickly explained the formula of writing. He also reminded us that we can help Palestine by writing content about Palestine or donating sales proceeds.
In the second session, there was a Palestine Talk with 4 speakers. The first speaker was international writer Helvy Tiana Rosa. On this occasion, he went on the internet and said: Palestine is our brother, so there is a need for such an agenda that will continue to remind us that we need to fight for Palestine. The second speaker is Turan Kışlakçı, a veteran Turkish journalist on Palestinian reporting. In this case, he said that what happened in Palestine was a historical event and we should all take part in forgiving it.
In addition to the two speakers, the President of the Palestinian Students Union in Turkey, Abdurahman Al-Farrah, was also present at the meeting. On this occasion, he expressed how painful the struggle of our brothers in Palestine is these days. He also said that what is happening now is truly unimaginable for people who can spend their days normally, carry out their activities as usual, and even dream about the future of the world. This interview session ended with the speech of Asma Nadia, who reminded us once again what we can do for Palestine, "Whatever we can do for Palestine, no matter how small, let's do it, because it can be a reward for us."
In this event titled Palestine Humanity Meeting, a joint screening of the movie Hayya, which was released in 2019, was also held. This film tells the story of a journalist who volunteers in humanitarian aid activities in Palestine, and then unknowingly takes in a Palestinian girl named Hayya. From this movie we learn that there are many ways to defend and fight for Palestine.
The event, held at Istanbul Tuğva Headquarters, ended with the auction of Asma Nadia's novel, the proceeds of which will be donated to Palestine. Before the novel auction, Helvy Tiana Rosa's poem was read by Andhara's brother, Elmy Maureza. At this event, attended by approximately 150 participants, we expressed that our excitement to defend Palestine and fight for it will never fade.
